Yun Ji Desserts (芸记甜点) is a dessert stall located in Chicken House, a coffee shop in Kilat Court, across a road from the new Bukit Timah Interim Hawker Centre.

The dessert stall serves quite a wide range of desserts, including traditional Chinese desserts (highly recommended by the stall), Taiwanese-style desserts, fruity ice-blended, shaved ice, etc. Their signature desserts are the milk pudding series (original, ginger, red bean & mango).

Yun Ji's desserts are handmade with quality ingredients, low in calories and low in sugar.

The original steamed Milk Pudding (双皮奶), direct-translated as "double skin milk", has a velvety smooth texture very much like soya pudding. The Cantonese dessert, made with milk, egg white and sugar, is served chilled and does not have a strong milky flavour. It has a pleasant aroma with low sweetness. It is a nice dessert that is not commonly seen in Singapore.

The Hand Pounded Taro Paste & Sweet Potatoes Mochi (手捣芋泥麻薯) is mild-sweet with nice taro, sweet potato and coconut milk flavours. There are small taro and sweet potato balls to give some chewy bites. A nice dessert to go for too.

Unlike traditional hot soya pudding that is usually served with palm sugar syrup on unsweetened soya pudding, Yun Ji’s Iced Tofu Pudding (冰豆花) is pre-sweetened before being chilled. It is not as sweet as traditional soya pudding and its sweetness is homogeneous throughout the pudding.

The cold Coconut Milk, Taro & Sago Pudding (牛奶芋圆西米) has sago beads, red beans, lotus seeds, sweet potato balls, yam balls and yam cubes in a mixture of milk and coconut milk — it is not exactly a pudding. Again, the dessert has low sweetness level and with flavours from the ingredients. It is cool, refreshing and can double as a cold beverage.

It is nice to have a meal at Chicken House and get a different dessert from Yun Ji each time. There is still a long list to go.
