Singapore Eat: Yong Heng Fried Squid Prawn Mee (永兴苏东虾面.福建炒) @ Bukit Batok

Yong Heng Fried Squid Prawn Mee (永兴苏东虾面.福建炒) is one of the two food stalls in Bukit Batok West Shopping Mall that serves Singapore-style Hokkien mee. The stall is pretty well-known for its Hokkien prawn mee with squids, the only dish served.

The (small) fried squid prawn mee is served with yellow noodle and thick rice vermicelli stir-fried with eggs in a delicate gravy that is neither too wet nor too savoury. The moist noodle dish is topped with prawns, squids and slices of lean pork and accompanied by a lime and homemade sambal chilli (not very spicy) for additional flavours. Adding of crispy fried pork lard is optional and self-service.

Yong Heng's fried squid prawn mee is a delicious dish that I never get sick of eating for more than 10 years.
