Singapore Eat: The Neighbourwok (街坊) Hokkien Prawn Mee @ Bukit Batok

Writer's picture: RickRick

The Neighbourwok (街坊) is located in Get Together Coffee Shop in Bukit Batok West. The stall specialises in just two types of dishes: fried Hokkien prawn mee and satays. The fried Hokkien prawn mee is available in 3 sizes with different amount of ingredients. For satays, minimum order is 10 sticks and mixing needs to be 5 sticks of each type.

The Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee (炒福建虾面) uses both yellow noodle and thick rice vermicelli to stir-fry in savoury gravy with fresh prawns, squids, small shreds of pork belly meat, egg and topped with crispy fried lard. It is not too wet and is accompanied by a lime and very-spicy sambal chilli for extra flavours. The savoury dish has well-balanced flavours (mix in the sambal chilli in moderation) and is delicious.

I will try The Neighbourwok's satays next.
