There are two "Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff" stalls on the second level of Hong Lim Food Centre, Chinatown. Both are owned separately by the two sons of the original creator of the curry puffs due to some family disputes — but that is none of our concerns, we eat whatever is nice and good. This post is on "Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff Original".
As its name implies, Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff Original (东陵酥皮咖喱角正宗老店) serves handmade fat curry puffs. There are three flavours: potato chicken with eggs (马铃薯鸡肉), potato sardine with eggs (马铃薯沙丁) and fish otah (乌达鱼). The fish otah curry puffs were created by the original Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff.
The potato chicken with eggs curry puff has crispy crust and the filling is mild-spicy with nice flavours. It is nice to have as a snack.
The fish otah curry puff is similarly crispy with fish otah (or otak-otak) as its filling. It is sweet-spicy but spicier than the potato chicken with egg puffs. It is very good.
I will try their potato sardine with egg curry puff next time. And also the other Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff stall.
