Singapore Eat: Shiok Hokkien Mee @ Beauty World

Writer: RickRick

Shiok Hokkien Mee serves their Hokkien mee (福建面), or fried prawn noodles, in several outlets in Singapore. It opened a new outlet in the foodcourt of Beauty World Centre in March 2025.

The Fried Prawn Noodle uses yellow noodle and thin rice vermicelli to stir-fried with prawns, squids, shreds of pork belly and egg in savoury gravy — adding of fried pork lard is optional. The not-too-wet noodle dish has a nice wok hei (wok flavour) and served with sour-spicy sambal chilli and a lime. The dish has well-balanced flavours and is delicious — and very shiok! Be warned that the sambal chilli is very spicy, go easy on it.

Shiok Hokkien Mee's stall in Beauty World Centre is the only outlet on the west side of Singapore. Don't miss it.
