Khon Thailand Kitchen is a Thai food stall in Foodgle Hub (福哥) in Bukit Batok West. It serves a long list of Thai delicacies. Aside from single-serving rice and noodle dishes on one menu, there are cooked dishes suitable for group dining on another menu. There are desserts such as mango sticky rice and Thai candied tapioca too.

The Olive Fried Rice with Chicken (鸡肉橄榄炒饭) is rice fried with scrambled egg, chopped long beans, shallot, chicken meat and black ground olive. The rice dish is nicely-cooked, non-oily and has well-balanced flavours from all its ingredients. Add a small scoop of Khon’s Thai green chilli concoction to further enhance the flavours of the fried rice. This is one of my favourites.

The Fried Garlic Pork Rice (蒜蓉炸猪肉饭) has deep-fried lean pork with crispy garlic bits, a fried egg and salad on plain rice. The tender pork meat has nice garlic aroma and the fried egg has a beautiful dark orange (high-carotenoid) runny yolk that gives a rich and creamy texture. It is a simple rice dish and tastes better with the Thai green chilli sauce.

The Pad Thai with Chicken / Prawns (泰式炒河粉) is a flat rice noodle dish stir-fried with chicken meat, egg, dried beancurd cubes, bean sprouts, spring onions, etc, with dried chilli flakes and ground peanut as typical condiments for the Thai dish. The noodle dish is not too dry and has a very nice sweet-savoury flavour and is delicious too.

The single-serving rice and noodle dishes of Khon Thailand Kitchen are delicious and I will go for a different dish on each visit. I will find an opportunity to go for their cooked dishes and maybe their desserts outside of meal time.
