68 Cafe is a new kopitiam — just a week old at the time of writing this post — in Bukit Batok West Shopping Centre, right opposite Food Hub food centre.

The little cafe serves various breakfast sets (traditional kopi or teh, soft-boiled eggs and toasts / steamed bread), peanut porridge (special recommendation), nasi lemak and otak-otak. Aside from butter-kaya / peanut as spreads for the toasts, there are new launches with tuna, sardines, egg mayo and cinnamon banana too.

Their kopi-O kosong has nice aroma and not very bitter. The traditional butter-kaya toasts use brown breads that are grilled till crispy yet still retain some softness. The amount of butter and kaya are just nice without making it a sinfully-tasty breakfast.
There are two versions of nasi lemak (supplied by Chong Pang Nasi Lemak), one with fried fish and the other with egg crepe. Fried peanuts with ikan bilis and sambal chilli are typical ingredients in nasi lemak. Each packet is quite big and best to be consumed before 2pm.

Wake up early and go for traditional breakfast at 68 Cafe. Oh, their peanut porridge does run out fast even on weekdays.
