50 Years Taste of Tradition is a bakery chain that has quite a number of outlets throughout Singapore. One of its branches is located in Bukit Batok West Shopping Centre, next to Food Hub. The outlet sells freshly-baked traditional bread, buns and tarts.

Other than traditional Hainanese bread, the bakery is popular for its freshly-baked Portuguese egg tart, Hokkaido cheese tart and chicken cheese pie too. It is tempting to go for all three at one go.

The Portuguese Egg Tart (葡式蛋挞) has crispy flaky crust with a delightful milk-eggy custard that is neither too milky nor too eggy. It has a nice aroma. The Hokkaido Cheese Tart (北海道芝士挞) has soft creamy cheese on crumbly shortcrust pastry. The rich and cheesy flavour is mellow and with subtle sweetness. The Chicken Cheese Pie (鸡肉芝士派) has cheesy filling with distinct flavours of chicken and spices enclosed in crispy flaky crust. Like the other two tarts, the pie has pleasant taste and great to munch on in its crispy crust. They are indeed very nice.

After trying 50年 Taste of Tradition's tarts and chicken pie, I will go for their bread and buns in subsequent visits.
