Heng Heng Pontian Wanton Noodle (兴兴笨珍云吞面) is located along Jalan Parit Mesjid on the northern edge of Kampung Atap. As one of the pioneers that created the Pontian-style tomato-sauce wanton noodle, Heng Heng is well-known and popular among locals.
Heng Heng's signature dish is definitely the tomato-sauce wanton noodle using their homemade egg noodle. The slightly thicker and round noodle, with springy texture, is added with slices of lean char siew (barbecue pork) and wantons (sometimes mix with fish balls) in a bowl of soup.
Other than tomato ketchup, Heng Heng's wanton noodle is also available in white style (sesame oil), dark style (soy sauce) and oyster sauce. The dark wanton noodle is dry-tossed with soy sauce mixture and has nice flavours too.
To go for more of their meat dumplings, add-on either a dish of 10-piece wantons in tomato-chilli sauce or a bowl of 10-piece wantons in soup — however, all noodle dishes will already have a bowl of 4-piece wantons, the dry dish will be a better option.
Heng Heng's original Pontian wanton noodle is a must-try when in Pontian.
