Located near to Cheng Hoon Teng Temple in Melaka Old Town, Mods Cafe serves great coffees and cakes. A message on the glass door at the entrance says "Serious Coffee Drinker Only". But, don't just turn away. Even if you know nuts about coffee, you can still enjoy a cup of good coffee, especially their crafted coffee.
Inside the cafe, a retro Volkswagen van is the centre of attraction. It also functions as the bar counter where coffee are brewed.
The cosy cafe has a retro vibe with more vintage items, including a motorcycle, a bicycle, old posters, game machine, etc, other than the vintage van.
The cafe is "serious coffee drinker only", so it is a place for coffee. Both hot and iced western coffees are available and also hand-brew specialty coffee using single origin coffee beans. Don't enter the cafe and start asking for tea or other drinks — but they do serve dark chocolate and masala chai tea.
For desserts, there are affogato, cheesecake, tiramisu, bruschetta and cranberry scone. Go with a slice of their homemade cheesecake, or other desserts, while sipping a cup of aromatic coffee. Their coffees are really good.
Enjoy the coffee and the vibe of Mods Cafe with its vintage decorations. It is a unique cafe unlike others.
