KL Eat: Lian Kee (莲记) Prawn Mee & Lam Mee @ Chinatown

Lian Kee (莲记) occupies two stalls in Tang City Foodcourt (Medan Selera Tang City), near to Jalan Petaling in Kuala Lumpur Chinatown, selling Malaysian noodle dishes. It has a pretty wide range of noodle dishes, such as prawn mee, lam mee, pan mee, yee mee, fishball noodle, etc.

Lian Kee Noodle (莲记)

The lam mee (淋面) has thick yellow noodle drenched in thick gravy, made from the stock of prawns and chicken with eggs, and topped with big prawns, chicken meat, spring onions and fried shallots. It is accompanied by sambal belacan that adds more flavours and some spiciness to the noodle dish. It is a nice and delightful dish.

Lian Kee (莲记): Lam Mee

The prawn mee, with choice of noodle, has big prawns, sliced hard-boiled egg and vegetable in a clear soup that has been used to cook prawns. The soup has the mild-sweet characteristic flavours of fresh prawns. It is also a nice and simple dish to go for.

Lian Kee's noodle dishes are cheap and great options to go for, especially for breakfast or lunch, when in Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown.
