Nyonya Dynasty is a two-storey Peranakan restaurant located near Tan Hiok Nee Heritage Walk, opposite IT Roo Cafe. The restaurant specialises in Nyonya cuisine as well as Nyonya-style Malaysian delights.
Nyonya Dynasty serves a wide range of dishes such as nasi lemak, mee Siam, laksa, curry dishes, traditional toasts, etc. When in a group, go for their Nyonya-style cooked dishes, including grilled seafood, curry chicken, kueh pie tee, chicken chop, etc. The recommended dessert is Melaka cendol.
Nyonya Dynasty does not have a long list of toasts but serves a selected few. Their kaya-butter toast is served with sinfully thick butter and thick coat of kaya between thin slices of bread that are toasted until crispy. The otak-otak toast has a large cut of sweet-spicy otak-otak sandwiched between 2 pieces of pan-toasted bread. The toasts are best paired with traditional kopi and soft-boiled eggs.
One of Nyonya Dynasty's top-sellers is their Nyonya nasi lemak (rice cooked with coconut milk). However, there is something very special about Nyonya Dynasty's nasi lemak that sets it apart from other eateries — instead of serving plain coconut-milk-flavoured rice, they stir-fried it before serving. The special nasi lemak is served with ayam goreng (fried chicken), that is deep-fried with curry leaves, and a fried egg. The flavourful rice with tasty fried chicken, paired with sambal chilli, is definitely a dish to go for.
There is still a long list of dishes to try at Nyonya Dynasty.
