Located in a back lane off Jalan Wong Ah Fook, known as Medan Selera Meldrum Walk, and towards the far end of the lane is a mobile stall numbered "02". The stall does not have a name and it sells three local delicacies: fried oyster omelette (蚝煎), char koay kak (炒粿角, fried carrot cake) and char kway teow (炒粿条). Another stall right beside Stall 02 sells beverages, especially its glass jelly drink and lime & plum juice (kit chai peng).
The fried oyster omelette has fried eggs added with rice flour and big fresh oysters (seasonal) and garnished with spring onions. The dish is not oily, not starchy and the fried eggs are crispy. It is accompanied by a sweet-spicy dipping sauce that goes well with the oysters. This is a really nice dish to go for.
The char koay kak is traditional radish cake fried with beansprouts and lots of eggs with dark sauce. The dish is mildly sweet-savoury and not too strong-tasting — unlike the dark-style fried radish cake (or fried carrot cake) in Singapore that is usually sweetened.
I have not tried the stall's char kway teow and will be back again.
