Yara Yara Cafe, housed in a 2-storey bungalow, is situated on a landed property in the residential estate of Taman Pelangi with its own parking space. It is hidden from the main road and one will need to know its exact location to find it.
The cafe occupies the ground level of the bungalow and is big and spacious. It is a nice and quiet spot, especially on weekdays.
Yara Yara Cafe has several self-created and special beverages, including its Yara Special (an earl grey, peach, honey lemon drink), dirty latte, black stout, salted lemon soda, sourbrew tea and matcha macchiato. Other than coffee, there are infusions and tea too. Light bites, such as finger food, pastries, waffle and croffles, are available.
The cold Dirty Latte is aromatic and has a rich taste. It is a great cup of coffee to have on hot days. There is no hot version though.
The Matcha Croffle is buttery croffle — a croissant made into a waffle — topped with mild-sweet Niko Neko matcha syrup and bits of nut. It is a nice dessert to accompany any coffee or tea.
Yara Yara Cafe turns into Yara Bar on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from 9pm to 1:30am. Instead of coffee and tea, enjoy cocktails when the sun is down. Note that reservations are required for the night sessions (more info. below).
