Rotiboy Bakeshoppe is a well-known bakery-shop that serves aromatic coffee buns in both Singapore and Malaysia. Originated in Penang, the bakery has numerous outlets across Malaysia. In Johor Bahru, other than the outlet in JB Sentral, there are outlets in AEON Tebrau City, Larkin Sentral and Senai Airport too. There are a handful of outlets in Singapore too but mostly in the east.
The main reason to go for Rotiboy Bakeshoppe's buns in Johor Bahru is the price. The other reason being that the outlet in JB Sentral is located very near the entrance / exit of JB CIQ (Johor Bahru Checkpoint), making it so accessible and hard to be missed.
The signature coffee bun is called "Rotiboy" and is slightly cheaper to go for five. The bun has a very tempting buttery-coffee aroma. It does not have a thick sugary-coffee top crust and not overly sweet. The butter filling is melted when baked. The coffee bun has a sweet-coffee taste outside and buttery inside. It is so nice that "one is never enough".
Other than Rotiboy, there are Buttermilkboy, Mochaboy and Cheeseboy to try too.
